Jacques P. Lesure, Ph.D. is a strategist, evaluator, and educator dedicated to advancing equity through culturally responsive program evaluation and strategic planning. He brings experience working with nonprofits, public agencies, and community-based organizations to design evaluation systems that are both rigorous and responsive to local contexts. His research examines how organizations working to address racial and economic inequality experience, shape, and challenge prevailing norms, with particular attention to how knowledge is legitimized and used to define accountability, effectiveness, and impact.

Professionally, Lesure has served as a culturally responsive and equitable evaluator with the National Science Foundation through the American Evaluation Association’s Graduate Education Diversity Internship, He has partnered with education and youth-serving organizations to design performance management systems, analyze data, and co-interpret findings with stakeholders. As Visiting Assistant Professor of Education at Brown University, he has taught and mentored undergraduate and graduate students while facilitating community-based evaluation projects in partnership with local nonprofits.

He holds a Ph.D. in Educational Policy Studies from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, a B.A. from Occidental College, and has completed fellowships at UC Berkeley’s Public Policy International Affairs Program and the CIEE Service Learning Program in Cape Town. Across his work, Lesure seeks to reimagine evaluation as a tool for strategy, accountability, and social change.
